I've owned a PS3 for about 2 years now and I'd say I'm pretty satisfied with it.
To be honest, I was actually losing faith in the PS3's survival this console generation. All of our exclusives were being taking one after another and the fan base was pretty low compared to the other two consoles of this generation.
Even though exclusives can be a factor in the "make or breaking" of a console, I don't care as much anymore. I like my console, I have over 20+ games for it.
People say there aren't games for the PS3. Sure there are, it's just a good amount of them aren't exclusives. But the exclusives we do have? They are great titles. Ratchet & Clank, Socom, Little Big Planet, Resistance, the ever so still in development HOME, some of you don't like sports games, I know, but MLB The Show, Warhawk, Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War, and most recently inFAMOUS.
Sure the 360 has a TON more, I'll admit that, but to me, they don't have that same appeal that PS3 exclusives gave me. Gears of War, great game. One was good, and so was two. Fable was great, but I heard the 2nd one wasn't as good. Halo started to diminish in fun value as the series progressed. One was awesome, two was good, and three just..sucked. I haven't tried the 360's other RPGs like Mass Effect and the one that Square Enix developed. And there's many more other titles I haven't mentioned yet.
Norrin, as well as some other 360 supporters are going to get on me for saying this, but I am looking towards "the future" and I think the PS3 will be on top. Sony probably is selling me false hopes. It's just something in me that won't let me just put a company down that has satisfied my gaming life since I was young. Call it loyalty to a company if you want, but the PS1 had it's shine, the PS2 is the best selling console to date, and the PS3, I believe, will follow suite.
To answer your question, get a PS3.
