Default Want to get back into making gameplay videos

A while back (year or two ago) I made a few gameplay videos. About 20 in total. While none of them were really popular, it was a fun experience. I want to do it again, now that I have a computer that will allow me to record in Fraps (or other gameplay recording programs) in max settings without lagging.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what program to use. I used to use Sony Vegas and Windows Media Player, but I am now using Windows 7, so I don't know what programs are available to me. Basically, I want something that is easy to use. Nothing to complicated. I tried using Sony Vegas a couple of months ago, but for some reason my videos always rendered out to some massive 30+ GB file. So I frustrated and deleted it >.>

Anyways, any suggestions? Mostly I'll just be doing some basic editing and putting music over it.

Or are there any guides out there on how to do some good editing on a gameplay video?

youtube.com/apocaruff if you want to see any of my crappy youtube videos.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated in advance.

Use sony vegas and render your video using 'Sony AVC' format. Click on custom to adjust the settings.

I get pretty awesome HD quality videos with that setting with very small size

Use the original video size. Dont make the video smaller or bigger to prevent quality loss. The resolutions doesnt affect the video size.

Gameplay videos, I find are more entertaining and popular with commentary. You don't have to necessarily know all your stuff, but with a lil' humour and all it'll be awesome!

I used to make dance videos with Sony Vegas, highly recommend using it, even if you have Windows 7. There was another program, but I found it much more complicated for not much difference.

Good luck.

I might in some videos with commentary, but it'll mostly just be gameplay and music, or just gameplay :S

Thank you both for the replies.

I prefer DivX's rendering, or VirtualDUB. Either way, stick to Sony Vegas.
