Greetings and Salutations from the Pokémon Universe!

What is Pokémon Universe?

Pokémon Universe is an online game that takes the game play of the original Pokémon games (blue, gold, diamond etc.) and turns it into a Pokémon MMORPG (massively multi-player online role-playing game).

An online version of the Pokémon games, hasn't that been done already?

Pokémon Universe is not an online conversion of the existing Pokémon games. This is a whole new game set in a brand new region, taking the popular game play of the existing Pokémon games and adding many unique features and enhancements to create an even better experience, and by doing this we do not infringe on the copy-righted material of the originators of the game.

What we have to offer:

* A whole new world to explore alone or with friends.
* Tons of new quests to solve including a party system for team play.
* Surprising new events on the world map bring unprecedented realism.
* Catch and train all currently known Pokémon.
* Battle against NPC's and other players. Including team battles (e.g. 2 vs 2).
* Tournaments. Beat all other players and win unique game content.
* Trade or sell your obtained Pokémon and items.
* Talk to the players around you or open the world chat to talk to everyone currently online.
* Create your own customizable character (male or female), choosing your own clothes, skin color, hair, and accessories.

Ever wondered how it's possible that a trainer who has fought thousands of battles and captured dozens of Pokémon doesn't get any better in doing so? So did we...

Experienced trainers will be able to train Pokémon faster, catch Pokémon faster and much more. The choices you make on your journey will allow you to specialize your skills. Will you become the best?

The adventure never ends. The game world will constantly grow with new area's and quests.

How can I help?

We are seeking Pixel Artists and Sprite Animators to help us with this adventure. As of right now, this is an un-paid job.

All of those who are still interested, here is the graphical standard we are seeking:
GRAPHICAL STANDARDS:

-Game sprites (Houses, nature, character sprites, and Pokemon follow sprites, as well as items) Resolution: 1 tile = 48*48 pixels (72DPI) (YES, this does result in one extra pixel on each side. Please take use of the Alpha-channel to solve this)
RGB Colour
Example (Grass):


Pokemon battle sprites
No resolution standard (All art is made in vector (PostScript), and thus resizable.

Both sides must be whole.

- No resolution standard, except for 72 DPI

!!ALL WORK IS CONVERTED INTO PNG (PING) WITH ALPHA-LAYER.

!!ALL SUBMITTED WORK IS AUTOMATICALLY SIGNED UNDER THE PROJECT LICENSE.

Accepted Artist work will be rewarded with unique in game features and a place among the Pokémon Universe team.

Please NOTE that graphical work currently has the highest workload, and that we expect much from team members. While being part of the team allows you to be more involved with the project, and our resources, its also a responsibility.

- In order to join the team you must meet the following requirements:

- 16 years of age or older. (No exception)
- Be active in our team communities (Eg. IRC)
- Submit work...
- Have at least three accepted graphical submissions approved by the PU-team
- Ability to speak English.
- Be cooperative in group projects.
- Have respect for other team members as well as yourself.

!!WHY ARE THE REQUIREMENTS SO HIGH?

- Please look upon the requirements as a test of loyalty. We need to know if you're able to do work that we ask for. We also need to know how much dedicated you are to the project, so that we don't end up with masses of inactive artists. We have high respect for graphical contribution, and will listen to ideas, and comments.

<b>PRIORITY LIST NEEDED</b>

-Buildings and nature
We need the following types of buildings:
- Simple two story and single story houses
- Skyscrapers
- Laboratory
- Post office
- Inside tiles for Pokecenter and Pokémart
- Inside tiles for houses
- Cave tiles (both inside and outside)
- Cave exits and enterances
- Trees
- Vector sprites of all the starter pokemon, except Gen 5.
- Follow sprites of all the starter pokemon except Gen 5.
- Female character sprite, and casual clothes.
- Nurse Joy
- Fisherman
