Default Is the Celebration of Death a Bad Thing? (Osama)

So i get on vent as usual talking with 2 good friends, one says killing Osama bin Laden will lead to more deaths(hes in the military), and the other says hes dissapointed in America for Celebrating someones death, that he'd rather him be imprisoned/ captured at all costs rather than captured dead or alive.
Whats your take.

MY SIDE: Though I do realize, nothing good comes out of wishing death apon someone, he had it coming to him, you brag about being the head of a terrorist group, and attack us. We asked him if he wanted to surrender, he denyed, we took immediate reaction. It was extremely successful considering we had no injuries. Yet, I've noticed im not the best arguer because i always look at both sides rather than stay on one side lol.

I believe that it's innapproriate "partying" outside of the White House etc. It just makes a worse impression on America making the middle east more enraged. (Although what he did was terrible, don't get me wrong.) However, Someone going to take over for him. Anybody who doesnt think that has no sense. If retalitation comes, then it comes. The reason they probably shot at him is because they were being fired at.

The people who are celebrating are missing the point.

This isn't a victory. This is something that had to be done. And at risk of re-opening a debate that was in the other thread, I'd say this was more about closure to an important event both historically and emotionally for the United States than anything else.

Celebration isn't appropriate, but people can do as they wish. Freedom of speech and all that.

Something like a gathering or rally is ok, but when people are at bars and drinking in the street, dancing around, it becomes distasteful.

Yeah, being glad the man is dead is more than okay, acting like a bunch of buffons is another thing entirely.

Also, I'm sure the squad would have captured him if they deemed it possible.

I would not be surprised if they took Osama alive and now they're interrogating/torturing the shit out of him.

I heard otherwise about giving him the option to surrender heard it was a shoot to kill order.

Anyways I feel the same way didn't mention cause I thought I would get flamed.

I would be ok with him being simply captured I have not problems with that.

It is wrong.
The issue here is that in some rare cases, it won't feel like a wrong thing to do.

Even today, when we weight it all down there's still much of a grey area between our actions as humans/rational beings.
