I had a picture on my phone that I took last year, and decided to make something out of it.

How does it look?

Any suggestions or criticism is highly appreciated.

Was the original that bright? The saturation looks a little high. It looks like you also tried to do a bit of texturing by using some overlay, might be a big much, try turning it down just a LITTLE. I say this because 1. The the entire thing just seems to be a bit off color and 2. the texturing makes it look like you're trying to give it TOO MUCH texture. That's what my opinion is.

And yeah, I think I overdid the brightness now I look at it the next day.
I'll try to change it and see how it looks.

take out a few reds. i wouldnt even change the brightness, it looks nice for a sig

Don't know if an improvement.

Removed a few things, made it darker and made the middle leave stand out more.

much better. some reds are still too....uhm.."strong". take them out via adjustments -> color balance

I like the second one a whole lot more, brings out some colors to life and the details are nice.

The green contrast to the brown is just right.

Thanks, I appreciate everyones help!

I tried this, don't know if its better.

I tried to make the lightning come from one source, and fall over everything else.
Also tried to remove red, not sure if worked out ;S.

the light source now totally fits the image

I like it too now, when I look at the old one, I see how many unnecessary stuff I fitted in there ;P.
