I heard that China has some problems internally within the country that will cause them to fall economically.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/08/bu.../08chanos.html If China do surpass the U.S economically would you guys say it is a bad or good thing for the world? |

While it may surpass us within in 10 years or so I don't really see it staying there. China has many political and internal corruption issues that are going to come to a head, along with a labor market that will begin to demand more rights and benefits as money flows into the country. The only issue is that everything is so interconnected now that if they fall they will most likely take the rest of the world with them economically and on a scale that is much worse than anything now.

Essentially speaking, yes. While China has the possibility for massive growth and innovation, they have many moral, political, and corruption issues that will impact the world greatly. This has been seen in their human rights violations, crack downs on political movements and their government almost virtually ignoring the corruption. While the U.S. has its problems, its better to deal with the beast you understand than invite in a new one that you know nothing about and has a few dozen extra mental issues.

Labour laws traditionally follow an industrial revolution not vice versa... No one cares anyways; As it is the Dollar is practically stuck in a dead end and the only thing that keeps it on life support is Chinese interest in keeping it's debtor from going bankrupt. The "drag" effect from China taking the lead is already foreshadowing in this situation. I hope it does do so fast and than it's going to lift the US out of the ditch it's stuck in and can't get out on it's own. That would give the rest of the world some space to breath too.
