I think it slightly depends on what you are looking for in a RP. As Anglo already mentioned 'we have a very active and thriving community', but it is slow - too slow to most RPers liking. I'm in two RP's right now and in one there hasn't been a post for a month now. This doesn't mean it is death though. No, this RP is actually very active though it is behind the curtains. All the people who have joined it are constantly thinking about new idea and are trying to write their best piece. This takes time.
(Though Anglo you should just post )People tend to prefer fast paced RP's, but those RP's also die faster since the story is just partly finished in the mind of the GM. After like 30 pages of speed posting there is nothing to tell anymore and the posting length is decreasing until the RP dies. This is not because people don't want to RP anymore, but simply because they have moved to fast in the RP. Currently in Tales of Amn where I've made I believe five posts my character hasn't even seen the rest. I've solemnly concentrated on flashing out my character, her partner, motives and her background. What I meant to say is that there are curtainly good RP's going on, but that most people lack the paintence to write out a post of 2 a 3 A4 in Word, where everything makes sense, and wait for others to do that too. Of course this is also because of school. As for me I'm doing exams in about a week so I don't write as much as I could. Just keep your eyes out for RP's that have a long intro than five sentences. That make you read the intro over and over again to make the best character possible. Those are coming, but it will take time. |
