how the hell do they make all the parts though? some of that must be factory manufactured, you need machine processes you cant do it all by hand. im guessing they get alot of cheap defective parts and use those.
but lol@ third world countries and "you will never beat these people". heh, this isnt the past anymore. this is the internet era and people dont give a sh*t how many soldiers die because the war doesnt affect them. only armed forces families know the pain of losing a loved one/friend/relative etc. the rest of the world basically continues as normal and doesnt care. the soviets fought for nine years and got nowhere, change of policy (among other things) and the change in the worlds political climate meant they had to withdraw. in this day and age i can see no reason why this current afghan conflict cant go on for another ten years or 100 years. the western powers are stable and potentially infinite in their ability to last thanks to democracy and capitalism.... and people arent p*ssed off and clamoring for peace or a withdrawal like vietnam. already we are comitted till at least 2015 which would put the conflict at 14 years and counting. we aint leaving, theres infinite time-scale and only a finite number of caves. but it was cool to see those old muskets, wouldnt mind one of those as a display piece.

Lol victory would be about disarming, not about holding a couple of a dozen strategic strong-points.
It's absolutely impossible to win against insurgency, when all you do is hoping they will be bored by their ongoing success...
