If you *cough* something, you'd have 100usd more to spend on an Intel 2500k along with a fitting mobo.
Other than that it's pretty good.

Giving it another look, it's either same CPU and a GTX560 TI or an Intel 2500k, mobo and a HD6870.

I would switch out the Phenom X6 for an i5 2500k and cheaper motherboard.
You could also find a cheaper case and power supply. If you aren't going for SLI you don't really need a lot of power or a huge expensive case. You could pick out a nice looking mid tower case for around 50-80 USD. You could find a good i5 2500k board for around 60-100 USD. Also a good 650-700 watt power supply should only cost around 60-90USD. Even the GTX 580 is listed to require only a 650 watt power supply. You could save another hundred by *coughing* Windows 7. 8 gigs is a little excessive since even the most RAM demanding games are fine with 4 gigs but since RAM is so cheap it's ok. Using the extra money switch out the video card for a GTX 570 or AMD 6970. Nvidia is will come out with their GTX 600 (Kepler) series late this year which is supposed to performance 3 times better per watt. But I don't think you are going to wait for that. AMD is also supposed to release their new Bulldozer CPU series later this year but I am unsure how well they will perform compared to Intel's i5 2500k/2600k CPUs. |
