My brother's friend robbed some dudes, although his friend never said anything about it they were quickly swarmed by police and arrested. He was a associate even though when the people who were robbed said there was only 1 dude.

Your company represents you, even though all he did was host a IRC hes still involved in the activity to a extent.

And as wicked said, hes going to just rat out most of the other people for a reduced sentence, a lot of todays police informers have done taken this route to avoid being anal raped in prison
