Didn't it shut down the intel one when you use a GPU-intensive program?

You're running 32bits windows. You're limited to 3.5GB of RAM if you're lucky. Mostly, you'll get anything between 2.7 to 3.25gb of RAM.
Srtest.com uses DXDiag info to diagnose your computer. DXDiag shows paging memory along with the real memory. The GT540M should not leech your RAM. You should be able to disable the integrated one, but I do not have experience with dual GPU laptops. Perhaps in the BIOS, perhaps in the power management or screen options in windows. I also looked on the Acer website to get more information, but with 36 hits alone, I don't think I'm going to find more on it.
