Default Is this worth it?

I've found a seller online for a gaming PC.
I was wondering if this desktop was worth $450. I believe it is, but I don't know what the parts are worth separately. Nor do I know a lot about computer specs in general.

E8400 Core2Duo @ 3.6GHz with Aftermarket Heatsink and Fan from Zalman
GTX 560 Ti 1024MB DX11
4GB ( 4X1GB ) OCZ Gold DDR2 800 RAM
ASUS P5Q-E
OCZ ModXSTREAM Pro 500W
ANTEC 300
Seagate 7200.12 500GB HDD

250USD and you've got a deal.

Reasons?
Dead socket
Dualcore
GPU bottlenecked by dualcore
DDR2 RAM

It's a good thing I ran it through OnRPG first, aha.

Found another one and if you could, tell me if it's worth what they're asking.

Asking $550

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 840 3.2GHz/Quad-Core/2MB Cache
Motherboard: Gigabyte MA78LMT-S2
RAM: GSkill NQ Series 4GB DDR3-1600 CL9 1.5v
Video Card: EVGA GTX 460 Edition
Hard Drive: Seagate 500GB/SATA2/7200RPM/32MB
Power Supply: Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500w

(Note: Comes with 20'' Monitor, Mouse&Keyboard, 3 games, buncha other shit I don't care for.)

I would build one, but I've only got roughly $500 to spend and I doubt that would be enough to build something up to date and decent.

That looks quite better.

However: http://www.hardware-revolution.com/b...-pc-june-2011/
The only thing I'd change with gaming builds is that you'd get the x4 955, regardless of the rest.
I'm pretty sure you could salvage some old stuff from your old desktop (given you have one) such as HDD (temporarily though) and DVD-drive.

Thanks for the website and your input. It's helping me quite a lot, and I'm appreciative. I'm going to take a look at the website and locate the parts on Newegg and see what it comes out to be in total.

Thanks again. I'll post what I have at the end for inspection, if you wouldn't mind helping me once more.

EDIT: Here's my current cart. The total with shipping/HST was $533. I don't think I missed anything crucial. I can take the HDD from an older computer of mine, as well as the DVD drive, power supply and sound card.

EDIT2: Would I really need a new case? Or could I use my previous computers case?
I had a Cooler Master Centurion 5 II

IMO, case wise. I'd imagine you would be fine with your old one. Looking at pics from both, it'd only come down to looks. Full black is nice, but if the old one works just as good why replace it?. Seems they both have same amount of fan options, and pretty much same placement just different looks.
So maybe swap that out for a better part.

It's a gaming case, so getting another would be a pure waste of money, which we somewhat could use to get even better parts for you. See below. :o

560 with standard shipping and stuff, excluding rebates and deals. :/

edit: all this possible with you salvaging stuff! D:

Thanks a lot for the help!
Those parts seem a lot better than what was shown in the guides, but when looking for the graphic card, I found this one:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814161363
with a faster core clock than the one in your image.

What are the major differences between the two. I mean, the price is the same so there has to be a catch in there being a faster core clock speed.

The only real major differences that matters between thesame model of cards would be the speed and cooling options.

edit: maybe RAM too, but than we'd have a price difference. Also a bit of marketing in the play, brand name, warranty etc. Generally the cards are near identical, except for cooling/logo, if they're in the same pricerange.
