Hey guys! I have been given a voucher from my insurance policy to buy a new laptop from either PC World or Currys and I was wondering if there was anything within a price range of £400 - £600 that could run FFXIV on medium settings?
It doesn't have to be perfect just run to a decently playable extent. Heres a link to the websites: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptop...ops-703-c.html http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computi...ops-315-c.html Thanks for the help guys. Hmm, I had a look and this looks decent. I don't know much about AMD CPU's though so I wonder if anyone could confirm anything for me. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/hp-pav...97915-pdt.html

I recently bought an acer 5750g for £540 and it runs everything i throw at it. Search for that
![]() It's got an i5 (The sandy bridge version) too and it's FAST, as currently the intel I series are the best CPU's for laptops. Here it is mate, i got mine from play.com but dabs is a tad more expensive. http://www.dabs.com/products/acer-as...m_content=Q200 It's within your price range and it's a fantastic laptop, I dare say it's possibly THE best sub £600 laptop you can get. And dude don't use currys or pc world if you can they are run by the same company and are WELL overpriced.

Oh cool. I'll have a look at it, thanks. Anymore suggestions are more than welcome too. Ahh see because of the vouchers I can only purchase one from Currys or PC World. Worst place to get one from I know but unfortuanately they don't stock that Acer laptop. Thanks for the suggestion though. Quite dissapointed because that laptop has some pretty decent specs.

According to this site, my 2-3 year old laptop's CPU (with a t9300) is faster than that AMD CPU. I wouldn't get it. As for the other options.... the only one I'd even remotely look at is unavailable. -.- http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/hp-pavi...27201-pdt.html The choices are beyond catastophic there...

Hmm, thanks for all the replies.
I've been looking and from what I've seen this seems to be the best I can get for the money. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/acer-a...27245-pdt.html Do you guys think that this would be able to run it on low - medium?

For a unoptimized game like FFXIV, there isn't a laptop that could run it. A friend of mine tried to play it on a Alienware M18x and he couldn't even get past the 20fps, even on 1280x1024 resolution....
