Ive never really been hit with a rocket or 40 mike mike in point blank range since ive had badcompany 2 for PC, but i do know that the grenade launcher can kill if you shoot someone with it from point blank range. it wont detonate but it will put a hole in them. ive actually fragged a few people from that.

as for snipers, its usually hit or miss. If a sniper is shooting at you, you'll either a "DING" <-- which means the bullet bounced off your helmet, in this case i run and i do not turn around until i get into cover.
You'll here a "Whizz" Which means hes shooting very close to you

or you'll hear the sound of a bullet penetrating you and see the respawn screen lol.

The game has done very good with immersion, i will admit snipers are annoying, but after awhile you learn how to act and react.

Rockets and stuff are good when you're trying to get someone out of a house though, infact its crucial.

in the end if you die to a sniper, its just something you have to agree to and say "Hey, i wasn't in cover so he had a clear shot at me"

my best advice is, when ur with your team mates, try to make sure the enemy cannot come behind you, and set your self up in a cover so you wont take direct fire, then go at em

Badcompany isn't very realistic, as lets say.. ARMA, but the immersion factors are pretty immense
