I would like to think of myself as intelligent.
I've always learned new material with little or no studying/effort. However, I'm lazy and hate articulating myself. That makes me dumb. |

Having knowledge of certain things can forever change the way you feel about something. Everybody has probably at one point in time heard the meme "What has been seen can’t be unseen" and laughed at how it's been used, but think about all the things people stopped doing because they learned the truth about them.
How many of you know the true meaning of the children's song "Ring Around the Rosie"? Knowing that truth, do you still think of the song the same way? Would you want your kids singing it? Some of you who you do not know the true meaning of the song have already had a seed planted in you. Before I mentioned this, if you didn't know you are now curious about what I mean and had I never said anything, you might not have ever cared to know. Then again there are people who see this and still feel the same after being told. They choose to be willfully ignorant of the truth. Let's not forgot all the people who won't even look into to this topic and see what's being said. They remain the most oblivious to it all. There's also the people who know of the song and it's meaning who still don't believe it. They think of it to be a coincidence or a innocent song that it is perfectly fine. Oh how dangerous that can be. There are plenty of ways that knowledge can be useful or harmful depending on what it is and if you know it, accept it, or don't. Intelligence is basically the ability to use common sense in practical situation. The smartest things ever said and done were always just common sense. Intelligence is also being able to use what you know in new ways. If at the end of your life you've read every book in existence but haven't written one of your own, what have you really accomplished? That's one of the major problems people come across as they learn more.

By being confused, it is possible to create new ways to solve problems. Think of famous philosophers, they turned confusion into theory that we still use to this day. The western world is somewhat based on it. I would much rather be intelligent and confused. The world is no longer ruled by the strong, it is ruled by the intelligent. The intelligent control the masses.
