Default Quick PSU Question

Had my PC set up and all for the first boot, but when I turned it on it (PSU) sparked inside and blew an egg sized puff of smoke.

So that is RMAing right now and all, but I was just curious....What are the chances that I'm going to get the new PSU and other components are now dead due to this awesome event?

Cheers,
Garb

The chances will always be pretty big I'm afraid.

If anyone would like me to build a rig, I'd prefer it to be in a thread in the tech section rather than PM. Thank you.

Well if it helps, when i built my last pc my PSU did the same thing after about a bit over a month. But all my parts were fine(Aside from the PSU of course...). Maybe i just got lucky though. Could just go somewhere and pick up a PSU, just to make sure that's all that went out. Then just return it once you know..

Thats fine and dandy, just needed to figure out if I need to save some money from this paycheck for more RMAs for the other parts.

I could do that, but that's needy as heck.
