Nope, it's coming to us for sure. Maybe a few small changes, (i.e. more cash shop items, less fun, etc.) but for the most part the big things will stay the same. So be sure to master skills, with the new skill system coming into place. Especially skills that are easy to lvl (i.e. Vagrant skills and self buffs), the more points you get, the better shape you'll be in.

I, personally, am gonna make a new character when and IF this patch ever comes for a few reasons.
1> Older players will not get the bonus skill points awarded in the job advancement, therefore making all the characters that played before-hand weaker. 2> Makes mages a little more enjoyable to play, since you couldn't afk spam and accually had to fight, leveling spells was tough. Now with this system you can fight regularly and still be able to level up skills. 3> Makes acrobats more fun to play as well. Now if we want perfect block or dark illusion we dont have to put up with pulling or fast walker, we just throw the points in and never ever cast them. 4> More PVE/PVM choices finally come, now I can start a pve based character instead of a pvp based one. This game really only needs some more dungeons and it will be good. 5> Now with the "!" over npc's heads I can finally do the quests I missed because I didn't know they were available, therefore getting better equipts to make my character better. I missed out on that max hp necklace thing and can't get it. dangit! 6> Durability on the other hand, sounds like an issue, yes granted the repair costs will skyrocket unless they tweak it to make it 1 penya per % or whatever, but now you wont do less damage since the durability on your weapon dropped. 7>Many of the new changes have made it so you can never have to afk skill spam ever again. only thing you might be afk for are the shops. Therefore you can have more fun enjoying your character other than worrying that your spells are too low and you need to fix them. 8> Starting from the beginning can help me because I can get the added points and do the quests I missed(FYI I am a very big completion freak so its a big + for me ^^). I don't mean to stir up an arguement, I am simply stating the facts how I see it, you can flame me and I will reply of what I think. Over all, I am in favor with this patch, I feel it has much to offer, and please, think it through before you say something. At first it doesn't seem as the best, but the more you consider and think about it, the better it will sound. It's very early in the morning and I'm tired so I haven't checked for grammar or spelling so sorry.

It actually is fair, and somewhat gives older players an advantage. Some classes won't be able to master their skills, and others won't even be able to get some of them until much later. The ones most effected by this are those who rely on skills, Assists (RMs and BPs), Knights (and Knight-built Mercs), and Mages. This new skill system puts a sort of strategy, and makes skill builds possible.
Also, older players are rewarded with points for every skill level (vagrant skills give 1 point per skill level, 1st classes give 2 points, and 2nd classes give 3 points, but vagrant skills cost 1 point each to level, 1st class cost 2 points each, and 2nd class costs 3 points each). Also, older players are rewarded 30 points per job change. If you don't want to get cheated, work on leveling your skills, get them to where you want. For extra skill points level up all your skills to at least 10, even if you won't use them, because after this update, you get a reskill to rede your stats anyway you want them. I wouldn't worry about it now, it has just been implemented into kFlyFF, meaning a lo can change. |
