I'm guessing you have a 32 bit version of windows.
From what I've seen, Miles Sound System has a problem on 32bit versions.
If you do have a 32bit version of windows (Vista) then try this.
1) In the Creative Audio Console - Disable EAX - Set CMSS to Off
2) Run dxdiag.exe and go to the sound tab. Reduce the slider to the second notch from the left - "Basic Acceleration"
3) Control panel - sounds and audio devices - set your speakers to regular desktop stereo speakers
That'll disable the standard things that 32bit vista messes with together with miles sound system.
If that doesn't work, then I honestly suggest ditching miles sound system, because it has alot of issues with games in general.
