Default Scarlet Legacy Review by Bloni

As we gamers have grown, so have games. These games have been evolving in many ways and into many directions.
Scarlet Legacy is one of these games.

It was arguably the best game in the Summer (for me) of hacking-n-slashing and the game itself ushered in a whole new era of Chinese games that are still thriving today in various digital-download outlets.

Scarlet Legacy is packed with action, adventure and with monsters. You start as a character with a name of choice and you will undertake quests and as you take these quests, the main quest will unravel with a princess named Scarlet and how you will have to save her from the Evil Forces and darkness.

As you make your way pushing through into harder regions, you'll face off monsters such as bandits and undead to hill wolves and clan members! You can party with up with friends and do a quest together - making Scarlet Legacy a great game for friendly-play (if you want to play with friends).

The in-game graphics were plain beautiful - Best graphics I've seen in a MMORPG game in awhile. I was certainly pleased with the graphics - I seen some free MMORPG games with good graphics but Scarlet Legacy totally exceeded what I have expected. Ranging from beautiful waterfalls to environmental landscape, the graphics made me feel at ease and it really strengthened the gameplay.

In Closed-Beta Testing, players can create guilds. However, it is still unknown what guilds can do but I found the Guild Emblem creation very creative and the emblem looked very unique. I liked it and how the Guild and the Emblem was labeled on top of your character's head.

Psyched as I was for Closed-Beta Testing to begin, my friends and I were more psyched for the events. Did we mention the events? The events were crazy and full of fun and competition! First 100 log-ins? Who will be the first 50 to reach the level 30 cap? Dang! These events made by the GM's made it more intense to play Scarlet Legacy for a longer period of time and to reward those who participate with worthy prizes for Open-Beta Testing! When I first saw GMSource's video for Scarlet Legacy (This is Scarlet Legacy), it looked very nice to see a GM so involved in their game and when you know it, it's going to be a good MMORPG experience.

Starting off in Scarlet Legacy was great despite being a Closed-Beta Testing. Even though the quests had some mix-ups and such, the quests were easily understandable as some were not but at least, the important ones were understandable! The traveling system was really great because you can either use Spirit Scrolls to transport here and there to a quest objective and/or use a mount to travel there. Luckily, you can click on your huge map and travel there without having to rapid-click or hold W to move. I was pleased that Scarlet Legacy did not use a flying-system because that would remove the scale of the game - you wouldn't feel the depth of the scaling so thank goodness for that (Perfect World flying and traveling was long enough...).

The mounts... Needless to say, they were awesome. Most were ridiculous and funny - it made us step out of the seriousness circle and have fun for once with the mounts. Two Cannibals that carried you around and having your butt on fire by a Burning Match Stick? I can't wait to see more creative mounts for Scarlet Legacy's Open-Beta Testing. Players have already witnessed the potential of the mounts. I saw GMSource carrying Scarlet, the princess, as a mount or having a giant war tortoise that can carry up to 4 players running around the cities... You can even have a demon as a mount!
That is totally sick, man.

GMSource on some sort of Demon Mount (I think)

The audio were great for Scarlet Legacy. The presence of combat music and environmental music with a Chinese melody or such, made this gameplay feel more intensifying and fun. You can feel into the game and the music really enhances into the incredible array of combat and traveling.

Some minor fixings that could be made was probably the looting system for me because the drops were really dull and you couldn't really find any good equipments because it was rare and also money was very hard to make. The best way to make money was to turn in quests (for me) otherwise there were other methods too - but when it came to grinding on monsters, you only got so much.

My Ratings

Scarlet Legacy gives you endless action and thrill.

Graphics: 8.5/10

Total Score: 8.4/10
I'm looking forward to OBT!

Coming from the intensity of this game in Closed-Beta Testing, I loved it. It was great participating in events that the GM's have hosted. I'm looking forward to more in Open-Beta Testing!
