There is no in-game currency which is odd. You can trade ITEMS for the currency, but the currency is bought with real money. So I doubt you'll be trading much for the money. For potions you pretty much have to repeat quests unless you somehow have enough TIX (The currency) to buy them. The grind isn't... EXTREME, but without potions it takes ages. There are quests, yes. They are more of a progression to stronger monsters, though. Not really the types of quests to fill up a zone and pack it with backstory and stuff if you know what I mean. It's slower, I guess. If you just talk to the people, they are really nice.
I enjoyed my stay, even though it was short.
