Having played through all 3 campaigns PLUS the EoTN Expansion, I have opinions about this. Please understand that this is my opinion and may not agree with others.
Prophecies:
Takes a long time to finish
Missions are very easy, but long
You can take the time to learn all aspects of game play with no rush
It has "Pre-Searing" (an extensive tutorial area that some never leave
)
Tyria (it's continent) is huge
Night Fall:
Medium in length
Missions are of medium difficulty
It has Hero Companions to help you fight
Elona (it's continent) is large
Factions:
Short in length
Missions are very difficult, timed, but short
Cantha (it's continent) is small
For a new person starting out, I would say Prophecies for all of the above-mentioned reasons.
