One of the surviving Paladin's called for all the Outcasts to form up on his position. As the Strike team of Edward, Myles, David, Sharpie, Sparks, and the Rookie made there way towards the Paladin they passed over dozens of rotting Ghoul corpses dotted with the fresh bodies of Outcasts.
The Rookie bent over to pull the standard issue combat knives off the bodies, preforming a cross motion with his hands after taking there gear. One among the dead was still clasping onto his laser rifle, Myles pulled it from the body and handed it off to Sharpie.
"Saw yours burn out, take it and let it revenge him."
As they approached the Paladin's position they could hear that he was already issuing orders to the survivors that had reached him before they did.
"Charlie, set up a fortification and defend the breach. Delta sweep the outer wall, I don't want anymore of those buggers pouncing on us from the outside." He saw the six new troopers and paused for a second to add them into the strategy.
"Alright you boys are going to be Eclipse, go back through the Barracks and work your way to the Armory, maybe you can catch them with their pants down while Alpha and Beta are putting pressure on them from the other side." He looked as Edward for a moment and pointed at him
"Knight Billings you are in command of Eclipse, any questions? No, good. Now go."
Members of Unit Eclipse nodded and confirmed with a unified
"Sir, yes Sir!" and started to move out.
"Oh Eclipse, if you see Tom tell that son of a ***** to get his *** out here." Sparks smirked and replied with a
"Yes Sir!"
Eclipse formed up around the door to the Barracks.
"David I want you taking point, you are a quick shot with good aim. You..." Edward pointed at the Rookie
""What's your name kid?"
"Zane Sir, Zane Lozen"
"Zane you stick with David. I'll follow behind you. Myles I want you behind me followed by Sharpie. Sparks I want you bringing up the rear, you see a ghoul you toast it."
"Golden Brown or Black?"
"Cut it out Trooper. Now let's hope the Ghouls haven't worked there way this far in yet but I'm not going to risk anything. On three I pull the door then it's all you David."
Laser rifles hummed back to life, and Sparks re-lite the pilot on the flamer as Edward gripped the door knob with his left hand, his right held up three fingers.. two fingers.. one finger..
((Seems I have made a fairly large error in the basic architecture of Fort Independence. For some reason I just defaulted to how the Pentagon is layed out in Fallout 3. This is an Arial shot of Fort Independence.
Also we're made some big breaks from Outcast canon. All of the Outcasts, each and everyone of them are former members of the Brotherhood of Steel and they broke off because they felt that Elder Lyons had lost sight of the Brotherhood's true mission to collect the remaining technology that could one day restore the world to a more welcoming place. Outcast Morgen who guards Fort Independence says "We don't talk Walk-ins, Lyons might be we don't." David's back story is fine (expect for your line "Hopefully we won't run into any members of the Brotherhood. When I was there, we were told to shoot Outcasts on sight." You shouldn't have been in the Brotherhood if the Outcasts already existed, and the Brotherhood does not want to murder any of it's members) and mine just needs a slight retcon. Sharpie didn't go into detail on how he came to be in the Outcasts. If some of the other players rejoin us they may need to retcon some elements as well.
I have also messed up in regards to addressing soldiers by ranks that do not exist in the Outcast lexicon. Paladins are Protectors, Knights are Defenders and Scribes are Specialist ranks, when comparing Brotherhood ranks to there Outcast counterparts.
As for the architecture I could retcon but I think it would be best just to roll with it and I'll some how work in a destruction of the outer concrete wall.
Sorry if I've rambled on at all, I'm just trying to stay as true as I can to the source materiel, please let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas.))
