Either there is a difference between pseudo-homosexual behaviors in animals and homosexuality in people, or you are going down a dangerous path m8.
Why? Because animals can be turned gay through experiments that can be replicated and made heterosexual too. Which means that either A) Human homosexuality is a condition that can be "cured" Human homosexuality is the result of environmental parametersOr C) Animals are jackshit for comparison and people who try to compare some critter to a human being are only doing it for some bogus effect over a sensible argument. @topic of sexually unusuals: You can psychologically change a person to be unable to eat and starve itself to death. You can turn a person schizophrenic, chronically aggressive, depressed, demented, you can hypnotize them to stop breathing, you can make them believe they are a cat or a sow... Yea, but you can't turn them straight... It's just not possible. Of course you can manipulate a gay person to become straight. Now denial that this is possible is a nice moral shortcut. I would see it as better fit to call it wrong to change the personality of a person. Let's compare it to an unnecessary operation on seemingly healthy flesh; Sex-change. Most people would probably prefer that to completely have their mind remodeled from scratch. The question is what is considered "healthy" here, the mind or the body. The clear cut answer doesn't exist, that is what I am trying to point out. A simple example would be the "people don't turn gay, people don't get straight once they find out they where gay". That is such bullshit. Where does it come from? From the difficulty of what homosexuality even is. Is a person who had a homosexual experience homosexual for life? If yes, a stunning percentage if people who life in straight happy lives, are gay. If no, well, of course easily the problem of people who once acted homosexuality turning their back on homosexual behavior goes away elegantly; They just experimented they never really "changed". So what is this all about? Fighting the traditionalist anti-homosexuality argument with equally stupid pro-homosexuality arguments? Just adapting to the situation and picking a new ideology to surpass the olden ones? That's a pretty weak attempt at being better than those people who went out and caused harm by telling others "how it is supposed to be"; Telling them "how it is supposed to be different". @topic: How does this even relate? People often define a large part of their personality sexually. Well imo that's one mistake that leads to suffering, but be it that way for those for whom it works out. Now it's really interesting how a kid that plays with dolls is supposedly a girl. If it likes dresses it might be just a kid that "likes dresses"? If he want's to be a girl in a sexual sense, out of a decision it made, it wants to take a part in a procreational pact, that it can not practically fulfill. (Funny as it is there are many ways to do so through treachery and deception. This might be cross-dressing, to get support from a tricked male, animals might disguise themselves, or there are also lesbian monkeys who steal babies so that they can fully experience a partnership with progeny.) All the problems that will later on arise, well, are they the fault of society entirely? Of course the kid doesn't know better. Still that won't save him from problematic relationships when it attempts to engage with people who are focused on sharing their resources with partners who they want to have a procreational relationship with. They can't get to those resources without extortion, or trickery. If they consider that no option, but still think that other tricksters might be part of their potential pool of partners, well they are in for hardship. If they are sure that they want to say goodby to the traditional game and only go for people who do not want to procreate and are available to them, they will have to settle for a small pool and have a higher risk of having to settle for a mate that doesn't suit them well. So yes, being homosexual makes your life harder. You can call any backlash of society discrimination, but this backlash will be still proportional to the amount of homosexuals who do pursue straights. Those will always be around and who knows if it where a good idea to mark them the wrongdoers? I am tempted to question what would be so bad about accepting the world as it is, laying sexuality aside and not being public about it for the most part of the day (which shouldn't be so hard) and being done with it.
