Default Mac vs Windows

Title says all. Which is better Mac or Windows? I've got tired of it without reason and want to have something different than Windows..

These days it's just personal preference if you're not counting games. Quite the few games support Mac nowadays and the list's growing.

Thus, hardcore gaming? Windows.
Everything else (with or without your occasional game)? Take your pick.

If you want something different, get any of the Linux distros.

If anyone would like me to build a rig, I'd prefer it to be in a thread in the tech section rather than PM. Thank you.

If I have a dollar for every time I hear/see Macs vs Windows......

Anyways Macs are really just for aesthetics. They are expensive and nothing too special about macs other than final cut. Imovie too which is free and comes with a Mac and it is vastly superior than Windows Movie Maker.

Depends on what you want.

Disregarding the price:

Macs are better for general life - making photo albums for friends, the odd casual movemaking, ect. Just a sort of desktop computer for someone who isn't into computers.

Windows are better for gaming fullstop, and more proffesional work.

Though of course, it's mostly down to personal prefrence.

I've always been a Windows guy. Macs are good for general day to day email and are used a lot for artsy type things. Windows is good for games, general day to day things and business. Linux is good for experimenting and something a little different. You can play a lot of games on it via WINE. Mac to me seems mostly for the athstetics.

You can't compare Mac to Windows, cause they're both different. Both aim for a different audience...

Windows = Easiest to use for people who are a normal comp user. Yeah, sorry for the people who say 'games', but that's a bit to small scale...

Mac = More for 'designers'. Billboards, Video editting, Website etc...

window = can do anything what a mac and more

mac need to run window in bootcamp to even play games so window technical win that fight because your still using window

No, I'm not mixing it up, and I never said that the Mac is used for gaming. It's completely useless for a casual user to get a Mac. Simple for the reasons like the price. It's also a complete waste to use one just for mailing and profile sites like facebook, myspace or bebo (or whatever it's called).

Windows Pro's
- Cheaper
- User friendly (yes, it's more user friendly then a Mac, no discussion possible)
- Used in businesses.

Mac Pro's
- Less Virusses
- Creative suite is waaaay cheaper
- Awesome OS for Designers, Producers and Webdesigners.

In the end Windows is better, but not because of gaming, like a few of you are claiming. Games isn't what makes a OS. In my opinion, Linux is better then both of them.
