I'm looking for an mmo that I can have FUN playing.
I do not want to learn how to repetitively press buttons and endure a mind-numbing grind. I also would like to be able to think about and enjoy the battles, or whatever form of gameplay the mmo uses, this would entail participation with the action. Also, a lively chat would be preferable, so a large fanbase is better. Fantasy Earth:Zero, by gamepot, was a very fun MMO and I enjoyed it so much that since gamepot shut it down, I've considered tunneling into the HK or JP server just to play it again. Since it was shut down, I've been hard-pressed to find any similair F2P games. If it helps any, I have enjoyed playing many different MMOs, but for most of them, the grind around the upper-mid levels became so boring and repetitive that the gameplay was no longer fun. PLEASE NOTE: I want recommendations, they do not have to fulfill all the requirements. I DO NOT WANT people posting in this thread if they cannot offer a recommendation, e.g, "No games like that exist," or "If you don't like grind, don't play MMOs." Thank you very much for reading my wall-of-text and thanks in advance for your suggestions. ^^ |

You can't faceroll on your keyboard in Vindictus if you plan on getting anywhere important. And unless you can master timing and attack patterns, you'll never be able to faceroll in Vindictus. I'm cap level in Vindictus and I still can't faceroll on my keyboard. |

Ah, thank you, I do play Vindictus and it's fun and barely feels like a grind, but sometimes the server is so laggy that it's hard to play on my computer. It's a shame that so many MMOs, especially MMORPGs are based around leveling, rather than gameplay.

A few months ago, the grind in CABAL Online was almost 100% removed from levels 1-95. The storyline and sub-quests now give better rewards and more EXP, so your character naturally falls into the appropriate level range for your current tasks without forcing you to melt your face for 2+ hours every level. From 95 and beyond, it's very dungeon oriented. I know that the overall opinion of Eden Eternal is very split (love it/hate it), but you might as well give it a shot if you're searching for anything to play. I'm currently level 38 in that game and haven't grinded a single level. Quests and dungeons lead me through the game, and my level falls appropriately into the right value without me having to grind. Those are the only games I can really think of that don't require you to go AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA for 6 hours at a time. |

Lol, I play Eden Eternal too. I'm already lvl 39, and lvling is only just starting to become a grind (lvl 38 and 40 are apparently the main gaps between story quests). I'm starting to wonder if I found all the good MMOs already. Thanks once again for your help though.
This forum seems very active, especially compared to many that I have been on, and not active in the bad way ^^. |

The only thing you need to look out for is high levels from the enemy faction camping your town exit portal. You also need to be interested in spacecrafts and flight. |

DFO = sidescrolling hack&slash/action rpg MMO LoL = MOBA MMO Are you ****ing serious. Bloodline Champions - action is good, learning curve is good, community is meh, competition is great, endgame content I have no idea. Dragon Nest - action is ok, learning curve is ok, community is good (on Velskud), competition is good (WCG), endgame content is slow to be released. Project Touhou - action is good, learning curve is good, community is singleplayer, competition is terrible, endgame content is excellent. Cave Story - action is ok, learning curve is too slow, community is singleplayer, competition is bad, endgame content is excellent Starcraft 2 - action is perfect, learning curve is good, community is ok, competition is excellent, endgame content is ok DoTA 2 - haven't tried yet, but you can message the developer for a beta-key. My guildmate plays it. EVE Online - action is poor, learning curve is laborious, community is bad, competition is good, endgame content is excellent Guild Wars Trilogy - ... Was this thread about F2Ps? Well Guild Wars is fun too. |

blc is endgame all the time, its not a levelling oriented game, the only things to really 'unlock' are more champions and skins/weapons (all appearances) for them about eve i personally really enjoy the action, you can find a fleet to tag along with as long as you dont get in the way and go on huuuuuuuge zips through the different secs dragon nest is pretty good just nexon blows balls, also nice ninjalink ![]() starcraft 2 is amazing, but i would say the learning curve is VERY hard to get over if you havent played very similar RTS, and as for competition it is absolutely the best competition you will find in any game, ever. cant really say theres an endgame for starcraft 2 though because everything is already available to you
