I'm looking for a game with similar or same character building possibilities like in Ragnarok online. In Ragnarok online you have a lot of classes, and for each class you have different stat and skill builds, which affect the character a lot, you have only a limited amount of points which you can distribute on stats and skills, which you receive each level. So for instance a character with good build and bad gear can even defeat a character of same class and has good gear, but a bad build.

Sorry for bad English, I hope you understand what I mean.

Thanks, but that's not really what I want, as far as I know in these games you mentioned you have rooms where mostly there play 5-10 people at the same time. I want a game with server(s) where hundreds of people play.

try Imperian. There's like 20 classes, a bunch of races and you can distribute statpacks across your char. Usually hundreds of people online and its very newbie-friendly, you can just ask for help and people will help you. The PvP is really deep too, a mid-level character with good skills can beat a high-level character with the best armor but no skillz.

It's hard to find a game that has better character customisation than ragnarok online.

You may try Perfect World Online or Rohan Online. If you want something slight different from Ragnarok, you may try Uncharted Waters Online, it also has a lost of jobs to choose from and a lot of quest to do.

Bah! When you say customize your "build" I immediately think of gears, skillbars, and the such. So I'm out of the loop for now. Guild Wars 2 maybe? But you'll have to wait for it.

In Ragnarok it was a combination: stats+skills+gear, that's why it was so good, you had a lot of characters + a lot of different builds. For example you had: Critical assasin build, dagger assasin build, grimtooth assasin etc. And often with different build you'd have a really different character. I'm not sure if more games with these possibilities exist but it would be good to find one.
