Default best mp3 player? (read)

OK, so I want a MP3 player that holds a ton of songs...like 80 gigs? A little less or a little more is cool.

I don't want a bunch of fancy bullshit. The OG ipod is probably my favorite MP3 player ever. I don't want games and movies and wifi and whatever else they try to sneak into MP3 players today.

Honestly, I don't even care about a display. I don't need to know the name of the track I'm listening to, but I guess thats a pretty standard thing.

And...of course...I want it to be cheappppppppp.

Thanks bros.

Define 'cheap'. :|

Most standard MP3 players are still about 8 to 16GB in size. If you want one of the bigger ones, you're pretty much forced to get an iPod classic 6th gen (120 to 160G. It's pretty decent for it's price (about 250 last I checked).
Archos is another one IIRC, but I haven't heard anything about it except for audiophile forums. ><

Yeah, I was looking to spend around $120 probably. I did find a few used iPods on ebay for my price range (many broken, a few in working condition) and I'm sure if I wanted to stalk auctions I could get one cheaper.

My only qualms with iPods is the battery life. I refuse to go to the goddamn Apple store for them to replace my battery every 6 months like I had to back when I had my iPod mini. I'm not sure if they've fixed things since then, but I soured on the whole iPod brand when I went through about 15 different batteries for the thing.

I generally use my phone, but I hate filling up the SD card with music. I guess I could just save myself some money and get a larger SD card (my phone IS sdhc compatible so I guess thats an option) but I kinda like having a separate music device so I don't kill my phone battery all the time.

I've never had battery problems with my iPod Classic.

Neither have I.
About 2 years old and still goes 7-8 hours with listening non-stop.

Ok cool. Then I'm sold probably, unless someone has another really good suggestion.

I think I'm one of those people that has some kind of natural energy pull because I **** up everythings batteries that I own.
