2 things you can do:
Try to log in as administrator. If it asks for a password, use 'OPH crack'. (You need the paid version for win7 though.) and make a new profile. Use a live CD to backup his stuff. Ubuntu will do. Download the iso, burn to disc and boot from disc. DON'T INSTALL! Select the Live CD option instead. Afterwards if everything's backed up, reinstall windows and make partitions, eg. use C:\ for the OS, drivers and basic necessities, such as browsers, flash, java etc. Use D:\, E:\, etc for all your data. Should OS-related problems relate, you can format your OS without having D:\ etc touched. You'll only lose this stuff if the HDD crashed or mess up your partitions. 100gb for your OS partitions should be more than enough.

Ugh, I keep thinking Ctrl-Alt-Del works to log in on every MS OS. -.- Blame school for it.

Well, that leaves you to the 2nd option.
Download Ubuntu, use it as a live CD, backup your stuff and format windows.
