If you want to stay in budget, you'll either get a GTX560 or a HD6870.
If you can go over budget a little bit, you can get a GTX560 Ti. There are a couple that drop to 200-210USD with mail-in rebate.

GPU doesn't care which CPU it has and vice versa. As long they both have enough power to not bottleneck eachother, it doesn't matter.

hmm...i think my motherboard is more in need of an upgrade i think...my friend told me that even if u have the top of the line hardware, without a proper motherboard it is meaningless....since the motherboard acts as te bridge between ur cpu/gpu/ram and the display.
should i upgrade my motherboard instead? and wait a little more on upgrading gpu?? just wondering which hardware upgrade is the most beneficial long term in my case~ |

Like snow said, GPU should be better. And also stretch your price point a bit for a GTX 560 Ti, and look out for discounts as well. |

hold on...isnt a cpu the same as a processor? cpu = computer processing unit i thought?
so getting a gpu upgrade is the best option huh...cool~ thnx for the help. edit: btw, is radeon hd 6870 a noticeable upgrade?? i absolutely cant go over the budget of $200 since i am not working atm due to school. i wouldnt mind a nvidia gpu if it is compatible with my specs. any suggestions?

GPUs don't discriminate unless you plan on going SLI/Crossfire. Also AMD GPUs have been getting a lot of flak recently with compatibility especially with Skyrim and BF3 recently. Also, if you truly want the best looking scenes, Nvidia is probably the way to go in terms of Physx and other junk. Still, even if you need the GPU now, I'm going to advise to wait it off and see a good deal on discounts for hardware. You have Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the rest of the holidays to decide from then. |

i wouldn't mind ordering it via online~ if there is a good website that sells computer hardware. |
