Exactly. This skill lvling thing is worse than grinding, especially the learning skills.
In Eve Online you basically do nothing the first 4 weeks besides upgrading learning skills for attributes, which you must.
You might run a couple missions for faction points. . . which gets boring, like any other quest in any other mmo.
You can also farm, if you are interested in industry.
Of course you can directly go into lowsec and pew pew crap as a pirate but get pwned since you have 0 skills for your paper frigets(A small ship, popular among pirates.)
Once those 4 weeks are over, you are starting to have fun since you are upgrading your pew pew skills and ship skills, getting better for pvp. That is when the real fun starts. But getting past these 4 weeks isnt for anyone.
I find myself upping skills and then logging off to play TF2 for the wait xD. . .
The pvp in Eve Online is really epic though. I can't speak for industry, I find mining and stuff retarded in any game, but that is me.
