Can any gaming/computer guru help me with this lol...
At college, I use an ethernet cord to connect to the internet on my laptop and can play any game just fine on high graphics. But for thanksgiving, I am at my aunt's who only has wifi i guess... But last time i visited i was playing games just fine! However, this time, the online games will constantly disconnect and be unplayable as I will only get a minute or so before this happens ![]() I really need some online games to play as it is horrendously boring lol. So thanks for any help! |

Is your wifi-signal strong enough?
Is her wi-fi protected? (as theabyss27 said in your other thread) You also might want to run a test on www.speedtest.net to check if her download/upload aren't good enough. If those other are all true, ask if you can install an app named netlimiter (free version is enough) on her laptop so you can look if her laptop doesn't take all the available bandwidth. You can do this on your own laptop as well.

I can download games at 1-2 mb/s, and can browse the internet perfectly fast and like I said, last visit i played games just perfectly. So her wifi is great. However, i think i kind of found the problem
I installed IObit, which comes with a game booster program thing that stops unnecessary programs, and when I ran it and it stopped a bunch, all games worked perfectly. So I am thinking there is something on my computer that perhaps recently got there that is interfering with the wifi...? Idk... |

Than obviously a program is hogging the internet up. (cpt obvious strikes again!)
Disable the gamebooster and look with netlimiter what's eating up the bandwidth. It could be a game/app that was downloading in the background (yes, I'm looking at you Steam) or a virus/malware.
