I've read a few of the stuff you guys are suggesting already. But keep them coming =] Looking in to a few of the books you've suggested and will hopefully have a chance to read them soon.
Specifically, I've read (of those suggested so far):

Only a single Foundation series mention?
It's the series that beat Lord of the Rings for Best All-time Fiction Series. Seriously. Without Foundation, there would be no Dune, no Ender's Game (Card directly mentioned Foundation as being his biggest influence, and without that series there would be no Ender's Game), and so forth. You don't get more influential and important and awesome sci-fi as the Foundation series. To illustrate: I gave the first book to my dad, who read it, and then bought the whole series. I then got my brother to read the first book, who read the whole series (we had already bought.) And then he loaned the first book to a friend, who loved it so much that he went out and bought the whole series. I'm sure the cycle has continued since then. |

I will admit, though, that I'm more partial to the military's side of the story when it comes to sci-fi. Last edited by Dwide Schrude; 12-22-2011 at 11:41 AM. |
