I jaibreaked my friends ps3 and we use multiman + external HD formatted in fat32 with filesplitter to play the games. We haven't tried the trick with ps2 games yet, but it should work the same way.

I did a similar thing to my Wii and will be doing the same for my brand new PS3. I think it's safe to say I've officially won Xmas.

Umm.. They been working on PS4 ever since PS3 was released.

Well, I hope you get it with 3.55 or 3.72, cause CFW 4.00 is really bugged, and some games won't load from the external HDD, if you plan to use that method.

well you never know, the ps3 has been out for a while. there are rumors that the 360 are coming out in 2012, so it is plausible that the ps3 will come out earlier just to compete with them.

I know how buggy some of the firmware is(I had a PSP-3001 slim with one of the unhackable firmwares).

Also planning to get a bigger hd? If you are, look at this. Because of this, I'm planning to order 160gb version and upgrade it with 1tb if I can find one.
