Linux is virus free, because patches spread just as fast as viruses do.

As i said, i will be putting linux on it, and i realize that a PC can run other OS. But, windows itself puts your computer at risk, generally people who buy PC's either buy ones with the software already on. As putting software on a new computer CAN be a pain in the ***. Not always though. So they have windows on already on there and don't really want to mess with it.
