Whenever I try to play Nostale I always have black boxes where the text should be. Is this cause my graphics driver isn't up to par or something else? Here's a screenshot to show you what I mean:

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well 1st upgrade your graphics drivers and if that doesnt work try reinstallnig nostale. But most importat upgrade teh drivers and directx

Hmmmm.. I'm pretty sure my DirectX is the latest version, and so is my graphic driver. I guess I just can't play then? lol
