I've been playin' MMO's since they became popular. I've played Lineage 2, WoW, Gate2Heavens, Perfect World, Runes of Magic, DDO, FF11, etc, etc.
My problem with these games isn't the fees or anything of that nature. Most F2P games are unbalanced due to the cash shop, but not all are horribly unbalanced. The problem is, they just can't hold my attention. Every game feels the same. Login, create a character, grind, grind, grind, grind, kill other players, grind, grind, kill more players, grind, kill a raid boss or two, grind. Same thing in all the games. Are there -any- that stand out above the rest? I can only play MW3 for so long before it, too, gets boring. Thanks! |

Hahaha originally I came into this thread with the intention to troll you about playing every MMORPG. But I'm now here to suggest! Try Bounty Hounds Online, the game isn't imbalanced at all because of the cash shop because it's not even open yet! (Still in closed beta) give it a try and look me up! My names Clip, I don't play as much as I'd like but if you do catch me on we should team up.

I was waitin' for a troll. Lol.
I haven't taken a look at Battle Hounds Online just yet, but I'll get around to it in a bit. As for Entropia, I've played that game and it didn't hold my interest for very long. As it stands, Lineage 2 is my alltime favorite MMO, but I've seen and done everything in that game, so I see no point in playing it. Other than that, I loved DDO but the instanced world gets pretty boring. Thanks for the suggestions, though. I'll give it a look! |

Yeah I got into MMORPGs at around Gate2Heavens came out. Wait... This is ONrpg... *flips a switch inside brain*
I recommend Fantasy Earth Zero, Alicia Online, Lost Saga, World of Tanks... Actually, no. It does not matter what game you play because you will not find a level of happiness playing MMOs until you either A) Become bored of taking a break from MMOs (impossible) B) Join a multi-gaming guild (possible) So look for some good guilds. Top 5 guilds are usually active enough in any MMO. If you're Lineage 2 fan, play Lineage Eternal? RO, FEZ, Karos, Gates of Andaraon (a.k.a. 4Story), Pandora Saga, Guild Wars, Regnum, etc. also have guild vs guild or realm vs realm war. Yeah Guild Wars is good. But maybe that's the first fantasy-MMO I had with decent skill spamming. |

Well, the cutting-edge Action-RPGs have not been translated. FPS are meant for console, and high-quality MMOs are looked-down on for being overly-popular, because players do not know how to find competitive teams.
North America is good for its FPS and MOBA. PCs are good for their RTS and MOBA. The reason players find games boring is because they don't know the methods nor have the skills to join guilds which explore the top-tier endgame content. |

I was good on gaming until I finished the main storyline in Skyrim. Lol. Now all I'm left with is Modern Warfare 3 on the PS3. Which is fine for a round or three, then it gets boring.
But at least I can have my moments where I -want- to play it. It's hard to find an MMO where you want to play. Maybe I'll go back to DDO. |
