People say that, because that's how the game is structured. You have literally zero options when it comes to leveling. And there really is no reason to party for anything until 50.
The game is what you make of it really. None of my friends or guildmates have this issue.

Sounds like a bad excuse to keep playing the game. If the game isn't good, playing it to the fullest doesn't make it become great or anything. You just probably are fine with just the social endeavours you friends and guildmates participate in daily...but not the actual gameplay itself.

Thanks for the opinions guys, I play MMO for the point of it being MASSIVE and would hate to play a subscription based single player game grinding to the cap before I enjoy anything end-game, which is lackluster since a WoW player says they're even EASIER than WoW's raids? GW2 + TERA come out sooner please.

Meh, aslong as I enjoy playing the game, I couldn't care less what the reason for that is. For your knowledge tho, I do play mainly solo and still enjoy the story aspect of the game the most. And the gameplay? Well the combat e.g. is pretty much your typical MMO combat I've gotten used to in WoW, just a bit more fast-paced sooo no problems there.

And I never said I participate in that sort of endeavours. I don't even group with my buddies since they're not in the same level range as me. What I meant with "the game is what you make of it" is that you're supposed to haul your *** to people and socialize. Group up with people and add em as friends; that's how I play my MMOs and that's how I enjoy em.

They're just telling it like it is...

I personally would do a trial if that's possible, didn't enjoy the mmo aspect of this game however it was a fun leveling experience. You get a free month with purchase and depending on how much free time you have, it should be enough for the common player to reach 50 and decide whether you will continue the subscription. Personally I didn't enjoy the PvP at all and the raids 'operations' weren't anymore challenging than any other mmo out there.

I came, I leveled, I saw, I left. Unless I see some drastic changes they aren't getting a subscription off me

for **** sakes, can you please stop calling people trolls just because they disagree with your view on the game.

anyways have a read of the swtor thread, you will see the extreme ultra swtor is the most perfect game ever faboy's (fenix), there is also posts by those of us who actually want to see the game succeed and are willing to point out and discuss the glaring flaws in game design (my self and i think xeno also falls into this category) then there is also the posts from people who have't actually played the game for more then 2 hours but from word of mouth know everything about the endgame and leveling content, i think if you skim through it and combine all the posts you can probably come to a pretty good overview and conclusion about the game.

anyways ill give my current view on the game going to keep it short and more on the casual side of things if you want my views on the game in a "hardcore" sense then im sure you can get them by reading the last few pages of http://www.onrpg.com/boards/184742.html

your first playthrough will be amazing the leveling is great the story is awesome, (not the best but good enough) doing dungeons for the first time is great especially the more story intense dungeons, however this starts to lose its finesse once you level a second character since you see 90% of the same exact content luckily you can choose different dialog, the real downside about the story is light side and darkside choices mean nothing, you're forced down the same story no matter what you select the end will be the same thing for everyone of that class, the only thing it really changes is you may get mail from some one you helped ect. there are a lot of choices in the game where say you have to kill some one, you cannot choose to let them live instead it will give you a light side option to kill them in a more humane way or a dark side option to just brutally kill them, now the voice acting and story is the key feature of this mmo, however after playing your 3rd republic character you will have seen it all outside of the new main story quests for you class, every other quest you will have done before, if i had to estimate i would say you probably play about 10 hours main story quests, however the other 30-40 hours will be repeated content so the story and voice acting actually becomes a bad thing in my opinion, even worse is doing your 10th run through of esseles and having people who will not skip the dialog you have heard 10 times now, the end game gearing system for pve is very wow esque and the pvp gearing system is just simply bad.

my conclusion would be to buy it with the plans to play it for 1-2 months for the story after that if you want this type of game you are better off just playing wow unless of course you are dead set on a space themed game, the leveling experience is overall better especially when leveling that 7th alt, the raiding content is funner and much more challenging and everything is already in motion, swtor will takes months if not years to get that point and i doubt it will even last that long i have already started to see servers falling to low pop.

tl;dr incredibly biased view from some one who has clocked 23 days and 9 hours played across 3 character and has cleared all the endgame content swtor has to offer and is valor rank 73.

sadly never got my third character to 50 since i got tired of mashing my space bar to skip quests i had already done a week before, my 6 month sub will keep running but for now i am done with the game and shall go back in future patches.

i never ever said that. Once again..stop putting words in my mouth.
This is the proof that you are stupid cause i agree that this game is
not perfect (older posts) but its definitley not a bad one + this
is more mmorpg then a singleplayer game even with the storyline.

i have never once read a post where you said anything bad about the game, anytime someone says something bad about the game you instantly jump in calling them stupid/trolls.

actually wait you just called me stupid in your post, that has to be like the 10th time now, is there not a forum rule against personal attacks?
