Play till you sweat alot, and trust me, YOU WILL SWEAT, practice really slow at first, then gradually increase the speed by 1. Buy a metronome, it's annoying but IT DOES HELP. Play more than one style whether it be pop, blues, death metal, jazz so your stlye of playing doesnt stagnate and it makes it easier for when you practice. Don't play songs you cannot handle, you will be very disappointed and it is VERY discouraging. 1 rule when buying gear, AMP FIRST before ever buying a guitar.
