RoM's dual class system is just like taking a mage, and adding some healing powers.
There are two ability pools for each class, main, and secondary.
The main pool is what you can use even if the class is subbed.
A war/knight can use all knight's main pool abilities unless those abilities are a higher level than the warrior.
The knight-specific (as they say in the game) are well... specific to knight only.
Mage's main pool has fast cast decent damage spells with some stuns.
ive played a scout/mage and it helps stunning mobs while rapidly hitting the mob with dps.
All-in-all i believe the dualclass is almost as good as ffxi, but then again better, since each class is not lv 10/5 its lv 10/10.
