Leveling up does not take too much time at all, minimizing the amount of time you would be in contact with other players, and at 80, the only time you would fight anyone in "world pvp" is when you're sitting outside a raid instance for no reason, farming for gold, or in wintergrasp.
All of the above examples are eventually nulled due to the fact that at one point or another, you will have enough gold that you don't need to farm anymore, will get the smarts to actually get into the raid instance instead of sitting outside, and will probably end up afking wintergrasp after the 200th win simply because you're pretty much fighting lag for 30 minutes straight every battle.
Honestly, if you want to have some sort of "pvp" in your life, try some battlegrounds, and if you feel you're skilled enough to fight people on an even playing field with even gear, you can give arenas a shot. However, if you're looking for the "rush" to "one shot people" while wearing full raid gear, you can always join the nearest 40v40 battleground and feel free to snipe all the green-wearing casuals that you want.
But believe me, instantly killing undergeared bad players with a 12,000 lava burst, 9500 chain lightning, 6000 frost shock gets boring after a while even though it may be fun the first few times.
If anything, I would look for a good pvp realm to find teammates and people to pvp with, whether it be battlegrounds or arena, not for world pvp.
