sometimes the pet will just follow me around, never attack, even when attacked, even if I control it, it won't attack, its obedience is high in the high 900's but It won't do anything, (it is on cpu controlled) please help

same here! ever since i changed my job same thing happens to me i even brought my pet back to mini land but nothing changed it still wont attack and just follows me around =(

edit:just found the answer at the website of nostale @_@

To change mode, press the shortcut key. Just click on your pet and press the shortcut key

Combat Mode (A) ▶ Search surroundings to attack enemies.
▶ When ordered to move, it moves first and starts attacking again.
Safe Mode (S) ▶ Never attackes and flees when attacked.
Defence Mode (D) ▶ Fights back when the character or itself it under an attack.
Follow Mode (F) ▶ Attacks what the character attacks.
▶ Fights back when it is under an attack.

just press ASDF when u are controling the pet =)

That's helpful. I used F1 (switch to player) F2 (switch to pet) and F4 (select both) the whole time.

Yeah I was having this same problem, starting to figure it out . . .I think. . .nope.

The ASDF controls have changed now.

A is the attack command. (Like in an rts) The cursor should turn into a sword and the selected character (excluding yourself) will go over there and attack the enemy that was click on then change to F mode. You must keep pressing A to change targets.

S is safe mode. The selected characters (excluding yourself) will run if attacks.

D is follow mode. The selected characters will be commanded like usual so click to attack or move. So if you selected everyone and click the enemy, everyone (Even you) will attack.

F is the move command. The selected characters (Except yourself) will move to the place you clicked then they will just stay there and only attack if being attacked. (So switch back to D follow mode if you want)

Also, F3 selects the pet if you have a partner (partner select is F2) and F5 selects everyone, even temporary npcs that are under your command.

Yeah, I was gonna say, it's not working for me!

But I think I've figured it out now, I put my chicken on S and then just hit F3.

D seems to make MY character stick to the ground. Odd. Probably operator error.

Very nice tip.... I was getting annoyed with my pet,but now we are kicking some butt.
