You don't add your stats. They change depending on your gears.
Skills -> Buy all of them, simple.
Race have different passives or abilities but they don't make a major difference. I think...
It all comes down to personal preference really.
As for gears, it depends. Are you a tank, physicall DPS, magical DPS or a healer. Equip gears according to your class.
