This is getting a bit away from the actual topic but I'll answer you.

I wouldn't know, haven't seen that happen yet. Maybe the US government should try that though because both parties have valid points in certain areas.

There shouldn't be a forum that deals with the issue of pro life only. Pro choice and pro life are the a part of the same issue, people shouldn't look at it as two different subjects in the first place. You don't have one without the other.

Two people agreeing on the same issue always doesn't create progress either. As odd as that sounds let me give you an example:

If two teams of people both decide they want to solve 2 + 2 = x and everyone on Team A comes up with 3 and everyone on Team B comes up with 5, what good has their agreement with those of similar ideals done toward finding the real answer of 4?

Generally speaking though, a forum is a place where various ideas, thoughts, opinions and debates occur. How boring would life be if everyone thought and said the same thing. What would be the point of talking if everyone did? It is because of different opinions that we have discussion in the first place, not because everyone agrees. That kind of mentality leads to it being governed by a single will and that is never a good thing.

There is no ideal mentality without balance. One sided ideals are not balanced, and they usually lead to destruction. You can agree to whatever you wish but it doesn't mean something good will come of it.

People who have no will of their own agree with everything. Your logic is bordering very dangerous waters. I'd highly suggest you really take the time to think about it carefully and people in history who've have shared similar views and what it lead to.

However, that's not to say that people shouldn't have a place to discuss things without people make stupid comments or making unrelated statements to the actual topic which is the whole point to Cinderboy's suggestion of private topics in the first place. The power to discern if someone is contributing to a topic or not and know when and how to take appropriate action is a responsibility that not everyone can handle. All I'm saying is that if this sounds like an idea the staff is willing to try, then I'm all for it; Just be aware that things may get out of hand if they let the wrong people do it.

Btw, just because a person has their own personal feelings toward a particular subject, doesn't mean they can't defend or even agree with the ones that are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. Lawyers have to do it more often than you'd think.
