People forget how easily these threads disappear even in the free mmorpg section.

The reason why these type of threads never get enough attention is because they are not done properly. There has been a "let's play" thread moved from the free mmorpg section, people apparently don't remember that the last time there was a major gathering of players for MS it was when the Knights of Cygnus were released. Another thing you've forgotten is that most of the people who were interested, didn't play in Windia, they played in Demethos, including myself.

The reason why these things fail for not just MS but for any game is because people are too lazy to search for anything anymore. Threads often go overlooked mostly because they are not first page news, which is ridiculous.

The solution to that is posting any and all Official IGN threads in the right section, stickied, and have all people who are interested in playing directed to the right section

This is the MapleStory section, any important information regarding MS should be placed in the MapleStory section. If you think your topic is that important that you want people to look at it and know where to find it, then this is the best place for it. I'm pretty sure if you tried asking the Mods, nicely, for official IGN threads to be stickied in each section for whatever the game may be, they'd be more than happy to help do that. I could be wrong though so I'll ask.

Did any of you who wanted people to play MS again ask a Mod if this topic could be stickied?

Again, I could be wrong but judging by the responses in this thread, it seems like people just did what they wanted to do and when they were told their actions were against the rules, they wanted to complain about the injustice of someone who is only doing their job, in the most inappropriate way by insulting them.

And you wonder why you got an infraction?

Did any of you stop and ask yourself, is there a better way to advertise or draw attention to MapleStory other than creating a topic that will eventually be pushed pages back into the free section once people stop posting in it due to their complete inability to search beyond the first page? You claim your actions were to draw attention to the game, but this is hardly the best way to go about doing it, nor is it allowed in the first place. Why not try asking someone on the staff or submitting a suggestion about having announcements set up for games when they get official IGN threads? Announcements can be seen all across the board so if anyone who came to the forum was interested, they'd see it and come running to the Maple Story section if they were interested.

That's just one of the many proper ways to do things, this was hardly one of them.

I'm one of the people who is constantly asking for more sections to be made for each game so that everyone can come here and find a huge community of players to link up with and yet every time I see people doing this it just makes makes wonder "Why am I even bothering?'

What people do and what people should do are not always the same thing. You shouldn't think you are right simply because you were following the crowd.

I'm sorry for the rant, but I felt it needed to be said. This is just ridiculous how people act around here, on both sides. In this particular case however, the mods were in the right.
