I actually know a couple of other autists, with one being my friend self (I was like "no way" myself tbh. :/) and they are no way near the level of "stereotyped" retardism.
Some may be slower then the rest and some may excel the average human at that age, but they still can function normally in the normal world, hence the reaction I wrote in the OP.
