My SMG build for Lilith, invest in corrosive weapons, with shock or explosion added to Phasewalk.
So with Phoenix you can deal a ton of damage for DoTs and you can slay a group of monsters in seconds. I perfer switching to Shotgun on higher HP badasses (Like Badass Bruisers) but the lower ones should die nearly as quickly as normal monsters.

The Phasewalking is getting right ban in the middle dealing damage along the way, survivalbility can be a problem but someone is sure to die from the DoTs when your down.
