I know this is a pretty old post, but I've worked on a guide (still in progress) with the current client uploaded onto somewhere else (so that you won't have to update at all).

There's been quite a few changes to the game (new tutorial that takes you up to level 15~ish), and probably within the next month, the new class Fencer and new skills for the warrior (Greatsword).
