Stone waited till Hannibal made the situation plain to the girl. He then produced a pouch of caps and counted out the price asked, including the additional forty for the repair. A mercenary didn’t last long in the waste with shit equipment. Carver’s work had a solid reputation.
“Appreciate it, Hannibal.”
He opened the door just as the warning of a shooter blared from the speakers. Instinct took over and Stone closed the door then turned back to Carvers remaining clients. He unslung his rifle.
“Alright, you all know the drill. Everyone stay put and keep your hands away from your weapons and we’ll have no issues.”
This wasn’t the first shooting in Megaton and wouldn’t be the last.
“A Deputy will be around shortly and this’ll be sorted in no time.”
