i doubt it will fail, just having the name should bring in some numbers. though it could turn out like quake 4... people that play fps on the consoles won't see any difference with the pc version of mw2.
i have to say not ALL games will lag. a very small portion of the game will have a good enough connection. if you find a good host, the game should run fine with a smaller amount of players. the problem is the vast majority will be crappy just like in huxley. that game has terrible "pvp" because of that. luckily huxley has battlefields where it is dedicated.
best case scenario you server hop until the matchmaker finds a good server for you. worst case every game lags while half the games have the host leave mid game(or host team raping the other team consistently).
