on that list they rate further down probably under mage, lock and hunter, but at the same time a shaman opens a whole new world of options for you, melee dps, ranged dps and healing, I myself stay away from shamans but this is due more to over playing when BC came out then anything lacking in the class, realistically one of the best class options in game imo is druids, tank, melee dps, ranged dps and healing leaving you with many options once you have reached max level, I suggest taking a look at them to anyone lvling up a new class.

Rule of thumb is that hybrids should be under the dps of pure dps classes, blizz aim I think was 5% at one point but this isn't really the case with constant changes in game, currently feral druids are doing great dps and topping charts but if you listened to the blizz they should be slightly under pure dps.
